What is the Dementia UK Weekly Lottery?

The Dementia UK Weekly Lottery is a way to support the vital work of Dementia UK, the UK’s only specialist dementia nursing charity. Each ticket you buy gives you the chance to win a cash prize up to £25,000. Each entry costs just £1.

Dementia UK is part of a wider charity lottery called Unity, which brings together lots of charity players into one weekly lottery draw.

How can I buy chances?

Sign-up to play the Dementia UK Weekly Lottery on our website by completing your Direct Debit details. Once you’ve registered, we'll send your welcome pack containing your unique 6-digit lottery number, your payment confirmation and the date of your first draw.

What can I win and how will I receive my prize?

By playing the Dementia UK Weekly Lottery you could win amazing cash prizes. The first prize is £25,000 with six numbers matched, the second prize is £1,000 with five numbers matched, the third prize is £25 with four numbers matched and the fourth prize is five entries in the next draw with three numbers matched.

The draw takes place every Friday. Once it has taken place, winners are notified by post or email.

If you match 4 digits or more, you will be sent your winnings automatically, either directly into your bank (if playing by Direct Debit), or via a cheque sent in the post.

If you match 3 digits you will be sent an email to confirm your win and your temporary 5 prize entry lottery numbers for the following week's draw.

What are the lottery terms and conditions?

The lottery rules are available on our rules page. The purpose of these rules is to ensure you are informed about the terms of playing our lottery and to promote responsible gambling.

What is responsible gambling and where can I find out more?

We’re committed to operating our lottery in a safe, secure and responsible way. If you are concerned about your gambling, we recommend contacting the BeGambleAware helpline on 0808 8020 133 or visiting their website at www.begambleaware.org.

If you feel like you may have a gambling problem and would like to exclude yourself from playing the Dementia UK Weekly Lottery, you can download our lottery self-exclusion form and return this to us or call our lottery helpline number on 0330 678 2711.

We have a responsibility to protect vulnerable people, including those who have a condition that may affect their decision-making process, including dementia. We will engage with those who are identified as vulnerable, including, where relevant, ensuring that they do not receive marketing or fundraising communications, including mailing appeals, emails and telephone calls. Please contact our Supporter Care team for more information by emailing supportercare@dementiauk.org or calling us on 0300 365 5500.

How does playing the weekly lottery raise money for Dementia UK’s vital services?

By playing the Dementia UK Weekly Lottery you are helping to expand our vital services to ensure fewer families have to face dementia alone.

For every £1 ticket you buy, at least 50% (or 50p) will go directly to Dementia UK. The remaining 50% will cover the lottery prizes and administration.
